Choosing your first guitar can be a daunting challenge! You may not know to much about the instrument and with all the different makes, models, types, shapes and size of guitars available it can be a bit of minefield. This short blog will just explain things a little bit so you know where to start. First of all you want to decide between acoustic, classical or electric.
Acoustic guitars have bronze metal strings and give a loud, contemporary singer songwriter kind of sound, often used in a band environment. Classical guitars have nylon strings and produce a more traditional softer sound often played as a solo instrument and used for fingerpicking classical music. Electric guitar has metal strings and needs an amp to be able to be heard. These can be more versatile as you can control the different sounds you want through the amp and adding effects to it. Prices for an acoustic guitars start from about £105, classicals start from £69.99, and electric guitars are a bit more, because of the amplifier! They start from £264 for a whole pack, which includes the guitar, amplifier, and all of the accessories.
